freedom hasn't led to anything

Freedom from tyranny. Freedom from them firangis who plagued our nation for about a hundred fifty years. But when I sit back and think, I think those were the best days of India when it came to achieving the status of a developing nation. What have we achieved after the British granted us independence. Tyranny even if it was bitter, catalysed progress and with the end of tyranny came the demise of development. Lets face it, the British were atleast far better than today's democratic government which is only a personification of corruption and selfishness. Is this the fruit of independence? We cant always look back to our ancestors and always sing praises of our rich tradition and culture. Instead why cant we contribute to it and make it richer. Why cant we stand on our own two feet. You might argue about India being still an infant of a nation when it comes to self governance. But look at the resources we inherited when the British left and what constructive use we have made of it. Infancy must not prevent us from achieving our goals. And that's that about the post freedom affair.
